About the event
The 2025 NZTA Taxidermy Competition is for taxidermists of all levels of experiences, from Juniors and Novices to Masters. Competitors submit a piece of work, and our very experienced judges score the mount against other mounts. Competitors compete in categories for example mammals (not limited too). They also compete within different skill levels for example novices compete with other novices.
The Competition format is usually held in the last week of September over four days Thursday to Sunday
Competitors can submit their work from early on Thursday or on Friday (usually before midday) ideally the sooner the better.
We would also greatly appreciate anyone who is able to help with setting up for the show. This typically takes 2-3 hours
We may also look to run a seminar on the Friday afternoon.
On the Saturday we usually have our judge running a workshop that our members can attend. After this…
